The War between the classes
Chapter VII

  • Amy hates having friends bow to her. She increasingly dislikes the color game and wants to stop it immediately.

So she phones her friend Carol, a dark green, who she knows as a thoughtful und caring person. Amy wants to meet Carol secretly.       Finally they agree to meet at the nearby "Mall" the next Saturday.

At lunchtime she talks to the other blues namely Paul, Gwen, Tony and Raúl.
She proposes Raúl to sabotage the game. "ALL COLORS UNITE" but the others don´t want to give up their power.
"Why rock the boat. Just relax and enjoy your power".
Nobody seems to be willing to support her.

Later on Amy visits her brother Hideo and Sue.
There the reader gets information about how Sue and her brother Hideo came together and what problems they have not being accepted by Hideo´s parents and by the society in general.

Thereafter Amy meets Carol at mall as agreed upon before. Amy wants to convince her girl-friend that the game is both wrong and bad and hopes she will join Amy in her resistance.
However Carol ist not willing to help Amy.

Then they go into a fastfood restaurant where they mett Brian, a G4.
Carol shows Brian her armband and journal and Brian starts reading...
From the journal we get two important information, namely
1. She has never quite liked Adam.
" I´ve never quite liked him. He makes me feel like I´m not good enough for him." (p. 64)
2. It was fun getting people to bow but now she doesn´t know.

Carol is angry that Brian only controls her and not Amy. When Amy is asked for her armband and journal, she confesses not having it with her. (Carol gives Brian a hint that Amy refuses to wear both her armband and her journal with her.)

Amy openly opposes the color game and tells Brian that the game is stupid.
